How to fix the “Your PC or mobile device does not support Miracast” error

First, we’ll check the compatibility of your network adapter, and then we’ll check to see if the graphics drivers are configured to support Miracast. Here’s a quick guide on what you need to do:
- Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box. Then type “Powershell” and press Enter to open a new Powershell window.
- In the newly opened Powershell window, type the following command and press Enter to make sure you have the correct version of the network adapter driver:
- Get-netadapter | Select name, ndisversion
- If the returned NdisVersion is greater than 6.30, your computer is equipped to support Miracast from a network perspective. You can now close the Powershell window.
- Then, to test the graphics drivers, press the Windows + R keys to re-open the “Run” dialog box. Type “dxdiag” in the “Run” field and press Enter to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool page.
- Once the DirectX Diagnostic Tool page opens, expand the View tab and look for the driver model at the bottom of the Driver column. If the driver model does not specify WDDM 1.3 or higher, your system is not equipped to connect Miracast.
After making sure that your computer is ready to support the Miracast connection, you can follow the methods below, which will guide you through various recovery strategies.
Make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled on both devices.
